    Public radio reporter Austin Jenkins caught up with us at the June 5th Bellevue Farmer’s Market. Luckily our spokesman was there to answer questions.

    And for interested consumers out there: restaurants are required to keep shellstock tags on the premises for 90 days, so if you want to make sure that the oyster you’re eating is what it’s supposed to be you could ask to see the shellstock tag. Our oysters are harvested out of Hood Canal Area 5, and the Hama Hama Company will be listed on the tag.

    I just heard the piece on KPLU this morning. Adam did great! We are pretty sure our oysters have been poached over the years. When I was in college years ago, I was at our place in the dead of winter for an overnight. I was awoke at 2 am by a blinding light in the window. I opened the shade and it was a searchlight from an oyster barge. They saw me in the window, extinquished the light, and chugged off up the canal. That was days when we had no electricity or phone.
