What's it like to harvest your own shellfish? Come muck around and find out!

Since 2008 we've welcomed visitors to our farm in the Spring to harvest their own oysters and clams and learn about intertidal ecology and shellfish farming. These Farm Days are great fun for the whole family.

Tickets include pre-purchase of oysters and clams.

Each $85 ticket includes:

  • 3 dz u-pick oysters
  • 2 quarts of clams (~3 lbs - we'll lend you the bucket to dig clams into)
  • A 5 gallon bucket to take home with you
  • Enough ice to keep your product cold on the drive home
  • Beach entry for 2 adults + however many kids you want to wrangle

We will be on site to help you harvest, identify clam species, and steer you towards the perfect oyster.

Who needs a ticket?

For purposes of beach exploration, we define "adult" as anyone over 16 years old. We're not limiting the number of children you can bring with you - however - make sure it's not more than you can keep tabs on!

If you want to harvest more than 3 dz oysters or ~3 lbs of clams, buy a second ticket!

Here are a few Farm Day FAQs:

  • Friday 3/10, timeframe is Noon - 2 pm
  • Friday 4/2, timeframe is Noon - 2 pm
  • No dogs allowed on the beach
  • You don't need a State Shellfish Permit
  • No outside food or drink allowed on site
  • Our Farm Store will be selling soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, and beer and wine by the glass.
  • Our Oyster Saloon will be closed Thursday but open Friday.
  • Farm Day tickets do not include an Oyster Saloon reservation.
  • No refunds given if you don't harvest the full amount - if you can't eat it all yourself, give some to friends!

Once you buy tickets, we'll follow up via email with more information about things to bring and other logistics. This means that we'll add you to our marketing email list (if periodic emails from us aren't your thing, it's easy to unsubscribe after the event is over.)

See you on the beach!

Unmarked hazards exist on our beach, both man made and natural, so if you venture out please remember to watch your step. When you arrive at the event, we'll have a check-in station with more information about beach safety, and will require everyone who walks on the beach to sign a safety waiver and hear our safety spiel.
