Description

Join us this winter for a night on the tide! We're welcoming folks to the farm for hot soups, steamed clams, and a roving raw bar out on the tideflats. You'll eat oysters straight off the beach and learn about farming practices, tides, and intertidal ecology, all by the light of the moon... or maybe in the sideways rain.

Bring your rain gear, rubber boots, and headlamps!

Tickets include:

  • A beach walk and dinner for 1 guest
  • two seafood soups (one of which will be dairy free)
  • steamed clams
  • bread for dipping!
  • beer, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages
  • shucking demo and practice
  • All you can eat raw oysters on the flats
  • a Hama Hama oyster knife and shucking gloves to take home.

21 and up only - please email if you'd like to bring a child. Read below for more considerations and details!

Timeframe for Saturday 1/31

  • 7:00 - 8:00 pm: hot food, drinks, bonfire, beach safety and shucking instruction while we wait for the tide to drop
  • 8:00 - 9:00 pm: low tide beach walk and farm tour

Timeframe for Saturday 2/28:

  • 6:30 - 7:30 pm: hot food, drinks, bonfire, beach safety and shucking instruction while we wait for the tide to drop
  • 7:30 - 8:30: low tide beach walk and farm tour

We'll be walking across the beach at night, where unmarked hazards exist on our beach, both man made and natural. Watching your step is key to not tripping and falling on a bed of oyster shell.

We will require everyone who walks on the beach to sign a safety waiver and hear our safety spiel.

We highly recommend you find a place to stay the night - there are lots of quaint and comfy motels up and down the Canal that would greatly appreciate your business, and some nearby houses for rent. Alderbrook Resort is about 45 minutes from our farm.
