Here's more information about cadmium.

The Holiday Farm Sampler lets you taste two different species of oyster (Olympia and Pacific) AND compare oysters from various farm sites in Puget Sound. It's a great way to please and entertain a crowd with an at-home raw bar... this box gives your guests something to do, something to talk about, and something to eat. We recommend you buy several oyster knives and put your friends to work shucking.

Some backstory:

Olympias are the West Coast's only native oyster, and they're famously small and coppery tasting.

Pacific oysters are originally from Japan, and have naturalized up and down the West Coast. From Alaska to Baja, the vast majority of the oysters grown (and eaten!) are Pacifics.

The three Pacific oysters in the box will come from three different growing regions in Puget Sound: North Puget Sound, Hood Canal, and South Puget Sound. These three growing areas produce very different tasting oysters, ranging from briny with notes of cucumber, to rich and sweet.

Depending on where we're harvesting the day your box ships, you'll receive:

  • Summerstone or Disco Hama from the Northern Olympic Peninsula
  • Hama Hama or Lucky Penny from Hood Canal
  • Wildcat or Barron Points from South Puget Sound

Curious to learn more? Read about oyster species, Puget Sound farm sites, and oyster flavor.

A shucking knife (or two) is highly recommended.

Remember that consuming raw or undercooked shellfish increases the risk of foodborne illness.

Shipping to an Apartment or Business

  • Confirm FedEx can access or leave the package safely.

  • If delivery isn’t possible (closed business, locked entry, wrong address), the package may need to be picked up at a FedEx location.

Our business is 103 years old (and counting) so we're definitely in this for the long haul — building loyalty means making things right when something goes wrong.

Our Happiness Guarantee covers:

  • Damaged items during transit (please send photos!)
  • Lost product from deliveries delayed more than 2 days
  • Missing or mis-picked items
  • Quality concerns (too big, too small, or not what you expected)

Depending on the issue, we’ll reship, refund, credit, or offer a discount on a future order.

If Your Perishable Order Is Delayed

  • We’ll contact you if there’s a delay, and will work with FedEx to reschedule delivery for the next day.
  • Don’t worry — your shellfish will just think the tide has gone out, and will be fine with an extra day in transit.
  • When your box arrives, check the temperature tracking tab inside; it’ll confirm that everything stayed cold.
  • Learn how to read your temperature tag here.

What’s Not Covered

We can’t replace or refund orders when issues are outside our control, including:
