Winter Farm Walk
Join us Saturday January 11th for a night on the tide! We're welcoming a small crew to the farm for hot soups, steamed clams, and a roving raw bar out on the tideflats. We'll eat oysters straight off the beach and learn about farming practices, tides, and intertidal ecology, all by the light of the nearly-full moon... or maybe in the sideways rain.
Bring your rain gear, rubber boots, and headlamps!
Tickets include:
- two seafood soups (one of which will be dairy free), bread, and steamed clams (tip included)
- beer, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages
- raw oysters on the flats
- a Hama Hama oyster knife and shucking gloves to take home.
21 and up only - please email if you'd like to bring a child.
Timeframe:
- 6 - 7 pm: hot food, drinks, bonfire, beach safety and shucking instruction while we wait for the tide to drop
- 7 - 8:30: low tide beach walk and farm tour
Plan on arriving by 6:30 at the latest - if the tide allows, we might depart on our beach walk a bit earlier than 7 pm.
Unmarked hazards exist on our beach, both man made and natural, so if you venture out please remember to watch your step. We will require everyone who walks on the beach to sign a safety waiver and hear our safety spiel.
