Hi everyone! Big news: Our 2013 Oyster Rama is set for Saturday April 27th. We've created a Rama page, which you should see as an option up top. Check the page for photos of Ramas past and info about the upcoming event. Tickets will go on sale mid-March. Stay tuned!
Here's the rest of the Spring 2013 schedule:
Saturday March 30th: 1 to 3 pm. Our first Open Farm Day of the year. Super low key. Bring your gear (your "muckers and shuckers", as Oyster Man Dan puts it) and head out to the flats to harvest your own oysters and clams at discounted rates. We'll be there to help and cheer you on. Please call or email ahead to reserve one of our two bbq pits in the picnic area.
Saturday April 13th: 12:30 to 2:30. Another Open Farm Day. All the above advice applies.
Saturday April 27th: Rama Madness!
Saturday May 25th: Open Farm Day from 10:30 to 1 PLUS Memorial Day Madness. This is a really low tide (-3.3); plan to be out on the edge of the flats at 11:37 on the dot if you want to say hi to all the deep intertidal critters.
And, just for beauty's sake, here's a photo of today's sunrise (our 'merroir in the morning') just past 7 am:
We love the flavor of Hood Canal oysters and have harvested and shucked them in the past at the Rest Awhile RV Park. Where is your farm located as we’d love to bring our Rv and get some good eating! Thanks
We would like to attend your March 30, 2013, Open Farm Day. We’ve eaten your delicious oysters several times, but never harvested them. What do we do to make reservations for the event? We definitely want to attend.
Thank you,
Mike
Hi Mike! Consider this an RSVP! (It’s that formal). We look forward to seeing you on the 30th. We’ll post a more detailed blog entry about the Open Farms as the date approaches, stay tuned!
