Hama Hama is looking for reliable and hardworking folks to join our Oyster Saloon team in  Lilliwaup, WA.

About Hama Hama: 

Family owned and operated for six generations, we’re a shellfish and timber farm located on the eastern slopes of the Olympic Peninsula. Our reputation for quality is built on hard work and clean water. Our mission is pretty simple: use low impact farming methods to grow world-class oysters and trees, have fun, and leave something good for those who will come after us.

Our Oyster Saloon is an outdoor dining experience located on the shores of Hood Canal, just a stone’s throw from our oyster farm. We serve raw and grilled oysters, steamed clams, and a variety of other seafood and non seafood dishes. We keep our menu simple and farm-focused while leaving ourselves room to experiment and grow. In January, the Oyster Saloon made Seattle Metropolitan Magazine’s list of Best Restaurants in Washington State outside of Seattle.

We’re looking for a Seasonal Line Cook to work Thursday - Sunday from the spring to the fall. Exact start and stop dates are flexible, but our busy season is May - September. We’re open from 11 am to 6 pm, so this isn’t a late night gig.

This is a great gig for someone looking to spend the summer working outdoors in a gorgeous setting, with a fun team and happy customers. You’ll learn a ton about oysters, make good money, and hopefully have a really great summer. Come join us!

Requirements include:

  • Previous kitchen experience preferred, but we’re happy to train the right candidate.
  • Main requirements are that you have a positive attitude, treat others with respect, communicate well with customers and team members, show up on time, are able to follow instructions and are comfortable asking questions when you need more clarification, and are willing to work weekends and holidays.
  • WA state Food Handler’s certification
  • This is an outside job in a busy restaurant kitchen, please see list of physical requirements below.
  • Individuals must adhere to all safety standards, including proper care and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to read and write. Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors and managers.
