Hama Hama is seeking a Restaurant General Manager to join the Oyster Saloon team!

Position Summary:
The Saloon General Manager keeps service in the Stump Bar and Saloon running smoothly and keeps both guest and staff experiences in line with brand standards. They maintain a regular presence on the floor anytime the Saloon is open for service, working to solve any guest or staff issues that arise, and to provide for staff experience and legal compliance by maintaining a regular break schedule. They lead by example and are willing and capable of covering any Front of House (FOH) section as needed. When rolling out new policies or procedures, they work alongside 15-30 staff, depending on season, as often as needed until the policy is fully enacted. Behind the scenes, they assist with hiring and staff management decisions, elevating issues to HR as the need arises, and help develop policies for customer service, coordinating closely with other divisions of the Company to help create a seamless customer experience at Hama Hama.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Improve and standardize the customer experience with an eye towards retention and long term customer value.
- Work FOH roles regularly so as to lead by example and create effective policies
- Partners with BAM leadership and HR personnel to help with all aspects of people management including hiring, development, performance, workplace concerns and engagement while maintaining compliance and supporting organizational goals.
- Serve as an expert user of Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Order supplies & beverage options within guidelines set out by the Food & Beverage Director.
- Fine tune, improve, or replace systems as needed, working closely with payroll, accounting, and management teams.
- Direct daily workflow in the FOH, ensuring that all sections are adequately stocked and prepared through proper delegation of tasks and staff time management.
Requirements include:
- At least 3 years previous experience in restaurants, ideally FOH leadership positions.
- Proven teamwork and management skills to coordinate restaurant operations, including staff work schedules, quality of service, and inventory management.
- Aptitude for attention to detail and organizational abilities, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to address challenges with a positive, can-do attitude and in alignment of company values
- Comfort working in a fast paced environment, navigating different communication styles, and prioritizing conflicting demands, ideally with humor, professionalism, and grace.
- Proficiency in basic computer usage such as email, ordering, and POS systems
- Willingness to work alongside staff, learning from them and leading by example
- Ability to satisfy the physical requirements of the job, which include (but are not limited to): standing/walking for extended periods (8-10 hours per shift), stooping, bending, reaching, lifting (up to 50 lbs), ascending/descending stairs and ladders, speaking, hearing, visual acuity, working alongside common kitchen chemicals, exposed to the heat and cold of outdoor and indoor environments, and in a restaurant serving allergens including shellfish and wheat.
Total Rewards:
This is a full-time year round position. Expected hours of work are Thursday - Monday, 35 to 40 hours per week. The Oyster Saloon’s peak season is in the summer months (May - August) and the Oyster Saloon General Manager should be prepared to work overtime when needed. Compensation range starts at $28-$30 per hour, with a 2 month housing benefit to allow for relocation. Position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses and applicable tips.
