Hama Hama is seeking a part time oyster packer in the Wholesale team!

Position Summary:
The oyster packer weighs, washes, and sorts shucked oysters by size, packing them into jars to fulfill orders. They label jars, track production and inventory, complete daily and weekly HACCP paperwork, and follow procedures for cleaning and sanitizing. They keep an eye on oyster condition and quality, reporting any changes in product quality to the fulfillment and farm teams.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Rinse then sort shucked oysters by size accurately, ensuring quality standards
- Communicate with sales, online, and fulfilment leads to ensure shucked orders are prioritized and completed
- Tracking outgoing shucked product by date and customer, ensuring accurate recording and inventory.
- Maintain organized inventory of packaging and labels
- Communicate regularly to ensure all routine plant and equipment maintenance is scheduled and completed on time
- Ensure plant and property cleanliness at setup and breakdown
- Ensure all operations are HACCP compliant, and document as needed
- From plant to customer, ensure we are taking every step possible to sell the freshest and highest-quality product we can produce.
Requirements include:
- Written and verbal English
- Basic arithmetic
- Organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work as a team and independently
- Maintain tidy and sanitized work station

Ability to satisfy the physical requirements of the job, which include (but are not limited to): standing, lifting, balancing, carrying, stooping. Work environment includes exposure to heat and cold of indoor and outdoor environment; risk associated with forklift; exposure to common allergens (including oysters) and cleaning chemicals; risk associated with wet or uneven ground surfaces.
Total Rewards:
This is a part time year round position with an on-site work schedule. Expected hours of work are 16 - 24 hours per week, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday, Thursday and occasional Friday. Compensation range is $21 to $23 per hour. Position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses.
